THE BEST WAY TO TEST DRIVE

MAKING THE DECISION

At the end of the test-drive, you should know if you must have this car at any price, if you want it only at the right price, or if you will want it at all. If your answer was you only want it at the right price, which is the only satisfying and "no regrets" way to buy a car, you are now ready to have some fund negotiating for it.

AFTER THE TEST DRIVE

After you have finished the test-drive and you know which car you want and are ready to go into the negotiating room and buy that vehicle, do it in the following order:

• Settle the trade-in price. Don't do anything else, Negotiate for the trade-in price.

• After the trade-in price is settled, determine the new car equipment and purchase price.

• In the finance room, determine what extras you want.

• Determine how you are going to pay for the vehicle with the finance person. Determine payments, if any, and financing terms before you leave.
